Mark Gentilotti came up big for Malvern Prep against Perkiomen School in the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association baseball final Saturday night.

Gentilotti doubled twice and drove in two runs as Malvern Prep beat Perkiomen School, 7-2, at Upper Perkiomen in a rematch of last year's championship game. The Friars won, 5-0, last season.

After Perkiomen School gained a 1-0 lead in the first, Gentilotti doubled and reached third on a sacrifice bunt in the second inning. He scored on a Jake Mullan sacrifice fly to tie the game at 1-1.

Gentilotti's second double drove in two runs during a four-run third inning that gave Malvern Prep the edge.

The win gave Malvern Prep its fifth Independent Schools state championship and third since 2012.

In the semifinals, the Friars topped Springside Chestnut Hill, 2-0, behind six commanding innings by Brady Devereux. Clay Koniencki and Parker Abate both hit RBI doubles. Billy Corcoran earned the save.

Also in the semifinals, Perkiomen School topped Haverford School, 4-1. Josh Cruz got out of a two-on jam for the final outs, and knocked in two runs.
