Hatboro's Comber advances to nationals
Hatboro-Horsham senior Casey Comber advanced to nationals by finishing fourth in the Foot Locker Northeast Regional boys' cross-country race Saturday at Van Cortland Park in New York.
Hatboro-Horsham senior Casey Comber advanced to nationals by finishing fourth in the Foot Locker Northeast Regional boys' cross-country race Saturday at Van Cortland Park in New York.
Comber completed the 3.1-mile course in 15 minutes, 37 seconds.
Central Bucks East's Jake Brophy, a junior, was one second behind in fifth place. The first 10 finishers qualified for nationals, which take place Dec. 13 in San Diego.
Spring-Ford's Paul Power, a senior, was 14th in 15:53. Alex Ostberg, of Darien in Connecticut, won the race with a time of 15:18.
In the girls' race, Marissa Sheva qualified for nationals with a seventh-place finish. The Pennridge senior had a time of 17:59.
Brianna Schwartz, a senior from Shaler Area in Pittsburgh, took first place in 17:36.
