GA senior commits to play basketball at Colgate

Sam Lindgren, a second-team Inter-Ac star, gives his commitment to play for the Raiders.

GERMANTOWN Academy senior forward Sam Lindgren committed to Colgate a few weeks ago, but wanted to make sure everything was A-OK with the admissions process before he spilled the beans.

Colgate, after all, was his first choice. Thursday, he made it official.

"From the very beginning of the college search, that was my No. 1 place," Lindgren said.

The 6-6 senior forward was a second-team Inter-Ac coaches' selection as a junior and owns 576 career points with a shot at 1,000 (he scored 424 last season).

The Doylestown resident will join former Penn Charter standout Sean O'Brien, who led the league in scoring last season and is a freshman for the Raiders. Assistant Colgate coach Mike McGarvey also starred for the Quakers.
