Sat. Pa. boys and girls: C.R. North overcomes slow start

Council Rock North didn't take long to erase a 4-0 deficit Saturday. The Indians scored seven runs between the fourth and fifth innings and held on to beat visiting Steinert (N.J.), 7-5, in a nonleague baseball game.

Cole Hoffman started a four-run, game-tying rally with a two-run single in the fourth.

Noah Hartwell gave Council Rock North the lead in the fifth when he cleared the bases with a triple.

Tyler Callender, a Delaware recruit, had two doubles for Council Rock North.

In other nonleague play:

Adam Holland stole five bases and scored three runs to help Penn Charter earn an 8-3 win at Friends' Central.

Dominick McFadden held Conwell-Egan to one hit over five innings in Archbishop Wood's 8-2 home win. Joe Lancellotti launched a solo homer for Wood.

Nick Mulvey doubled and earned the win in Bensalem's 17-3 win against visiting Roxborough.

Inter-Ac. Ryan Calhoun doubled twice and knocked in three runs in Germantown Academy's 11-1 win over visiting Haverford School.

John Ailello had three hits, including a double, and scored three times for Germantown Academy.

In another Inter-Ac matchup, Riley Mihalik had two doubles and three RBIs in Springside Chestnut Hill's 9-5 win against Episcopal Academy.

Five of Springside Chestnut Hill's seven hits went for two bases. Owen McAdoo had one of those doubles and drove in a pair of runs.

Softball

Archbishop Ryan's Nikki Michalowski and Kerri Dadalski combined to no-hit Hallahan over five innings in a 10-0 home win in a Catholic League matchup.

Michalowski did not allow a runner and struck out eight in four innings. Dadalski fanned three and walked one to finish the game.

Notre Dame (N.J.) Tournament. Conwell-Egan split a pair of games at Notre Dame (N.J.).

In an 18-8 win, Regina Milburn hit a two-run homer in the third inning and Ellie Murray had two doubles.

Conwell-Egan lost the other matchup, 5-0.

Lacrosse

Brian Sinex played his first game after suffering a severely broken leg during football season and scored two goals in Ridley's 16-5 home win over Wissahickon in a nonleague game.

Sinex, who required pins and screws in the leg after the injury, scored 22 goals and had 11 assists last year as a junior.

Lou Harrison led Ridley with four goals, and Brock Anderson and Matt Borchert each scored three.

Pat Magdalinski recorded a hat trick for Wissahickon.

In other nonleague play:

Brandon Dowd scored his second goal in overtime to give Garnet Valley a 12-11 win against Holy Ghost Prep. Kyle Roberts had a goal and five assists for Garnet Valley, and Dan Lanham won 23 of 26 faceoffs. Michael Major led Holy Ghost Prep with four goals.

Garret Trucksess led Germantown Academy with three goals, and the Patriots escaped from St. Joseph-Metuchen with a 10-9 victory in double overtime. James Diver added a goal and three assists and Max Derham and Jimmy McAfee each had two goals for GA.

Austin Delgatto and Sam Garges each scored four times to carry Owen J. Roberts to an 11-9 triumph at Emmaus.
