DeRusso hit a two-run double to give the Spartans a 7-6 victory over visiting Triton on Thursday in nonleague softball.

Alexis Maddox also hit a double for Deptford, going 2 for 3 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Sara Todd threw a complete game to pick up the win, striking out eight and walking none.

In other nonleague action:

Tori Danner went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for Kingsway in a 7-4 win at Gloucester Catholic. Isabella Bradian had two hits and scored two runs for the Dragons. Sara Hilt earned the win, striking out six and walking two. Annie Robinson and Allison McCarthy each went 2 for 3 at the plate for Gloucester Catholic.

Jasmine Miranda knocked in two runs and hit a triple for Highland in an 18-0 shutout of visiting Camden Tech. Tartans pitcher Paige Gerst stuck out nine and allowed one hit over three innings.

Olympic American. Eastern's Jessica Heaton threw an effective five innings, allowing one hit and striking out four, as the Vikings shut out Cherokee, 4-0, at home.

Rachel Wood went 3 for 4, scoring two runs and stealing four bases, for Eastern.

Burlington County Liberty. Meredith Taylor reached a milestone, recording her 100th career hit for Northern Burlington in an 11-1 win over visiting New Egypt.

Burlington County Freedom. Lacey Olaff picked up the win in a close game, as host Florence defeated Burlington City, 2-1. Olaff tossed seven innings of one-hit ball, striking out 10.

Burlington County League. Britani Esser went 3 for 4 at the plate, knocking in three runs and hitting a solo home run in the first inning for Westampton Tech, as the Panthers defeated visiting Palmyra, 11-1.

Colonial. Zeaenna Brackett went 2 for 3 with a double and a home run for host Woodbury during its 12-3 victory over Haddon Heights.

Serena Turco was solid in the circle for the Thundering Herd, pitching a six-hitter with eight strikeouts. Haddon Heights' Sammy Baker went 1 for 3 with a home run.

Lacrosse

Katie Casey had a hat trick for Holy Cross, as the Lancers defeated host Delran, 9-8, in a Burlington County Liberty game.

Brooke Caruso and Savannah Haran each scored a pair of goals. Delran's Rachel Ceplo had a team-high four goals.

Olympic American. Lenape rolled past Washington Township on the road, 17-8. Rena Carabases scored five goals for the Indians. Gabby Fornia and Natalie Peel each put three in the net.

Seven players scored goals for host Cherokee in the Chiefs' 9-5 victory over Eastern. Jessica Havers netted a team-high five goals.

Nonleague. Holly Tevis scored five goals for Clearview as the Pioneers picked up a 16-2 victory at Haddonfield.
