Pa. Girls: Thurs. Pa. girls: GA prevails in wild finish

With 45 seconds left, the Patriots tied the score. Eleven seconds later, they got another goal to take the lead. With 24 seconds to go, the Tigers tied the game again.

With the clock winding down, Betsy Prezioso passed to Allie Cannon, who connected as time expired to give GA a wild 15-14 victory.

"It was very exciting, to say the least," Patriots coach Ginny Hofmann said.

Seven players scored for the visiting Patriots, who were led by Emily Van Blarcom's four goals.

In other nonleague action, Taylor Campellone scored six goals on six shots to power George School past Lower Moreland, 15-5. Devon Felix had four of the Lions' five goals.

Inter-Ac. Nine players scored for Episcopal Academy as the visiting Churchwomen cruised past Baldwin, 20-3. Emma Brumbaugh and Jane Crager each had four goals.

Pioneer Athletic. Owen J. Roberts scored 10 goals in the first half on its way to a 16-7 victory at Methacton. Devin Hassinger, Kerry Huzzard, and Morgan Stone had three goals each for the Wildcats.

Softball

Katie Wenger struck out seven and allowed no earned runs or walks as Agnes Irwin defeated visiting Penn Charter, 2-1, in an Inter-Ac game. Jenna Myers went 2 for 2 with a triple and an RBI for the Owls.

Visiting Springside Chestnut Hill topped Germantown Academy, 14-4. The Blue Devils were boosted by Maddie Saltzman, who got the win and hit a triple, and Jenna Moriarty, who stroked four hits and scored two runs.

Alex Viscusi got the win and scored three runs for Episcopal Academy, which triumphed at Baldwin, 18-2. Gabby Donatucci was 4 for 4 with four runs for the Churchwomen.

Public League. Hailey Bennington had a three-inning no-hitter as visiting Rush disposed of Bartram, 16-1. Bennington struck out five and hit two doubles.

Pioneer Athletic. Host Perkiomen Valley squeezed past Methacton, 6-5. Brenna Sermarini hit a two-run homer in the first inning for the Vikings.

Nonleague. Academy of the New Church used an eight-run fourth inning to top Princeton Day (N.J.), 14-4. Laura Clymer went 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs for the Lions.

Villa Maria held on to a 7-6 victory vs. Phoenixville despite a three-run seventh from the Phantoms. Sarahrose Jonik went 4 for 4 for the Hurricanes.

Jenny Rakita pitched all five innings and struck out five, leading Neshaminy to an 11-1 victory against visiting Nazareth Academy.

Casey McMahon had an RBI single with two out in the fourth inning as host William Tennent defeated Gwynedd Mercy, 4-1.
