Montana struck out nine in seven innings to shut out host Atlantic County Tech, 4-0, in a nonleague matchup Tuesday.

She helped herself at the plate, too. Montana went 3 for 4 and scored twice to lead the Bulldogs offense. Natasha Rivera added two hits and an RBI. Symone Sweazie had two hits.

Cape-Atlantic American. Sam Liepe went 2 for 3, scored a run, and knocked in another for Oakcrest, which downed host Absegami, 4-3. Teammate Sara Pietropola was 3 for 3 with a run.

Cape-Atlantic National. Junior Lauren Dwyer picked up the win in the circle and went 2 for 3 at the plate for Buena, which trumped visiting Lower Cape May, 18-1.

Dwyer finished with three RBIs and two runs. Senior first baseman Stephanie Walsh went 2 for 2 with three RBIs and three runs.

Olympic American. Kaitlyn Gaynor allowed one run and struck out five in two innings of relief to get the win for visiting Eastern, which edged Washington Township, 2-1.

AnnMarie Cooker went 3 for 3 and crossed the plate three times as Shawnee picked up an 11-1 win at Cherry Hill East. Kaitlyn Konopka was 2 for 3 with a double and batted in three runs. Madison LaPlante finished 2 for 2 with a triple and two RBIs.

Lacrosse

Bridget Ruskey scored seven goals to lead Middle Township to a 19-7 home win over Cape-Atlantic rival Millville.

Jenna Herlihy followed with five goals. Megan Hoffman deposited four goals for Millville.

Nonleague. Emily Falana, Erin Green, and Kristen Oswald netted four goals each to spark Sterling to a 15-7 victory over visiting Woodstown. Lori Gorczynski added a hat trick.
