Saturday showcases at L. Merion, Harriton

The Kobe Bryant Classic and the 15th Annual Scholastic Play-By-Play Classic, featuring four of Southeastern Pennsylvania's top 10 squads, will be played Saturday at two sites: Harriton and Lower Merion.

The marquee matchup of the five-game event at Harriton is the 6:15 p.m. clash between No. 6-ranked Imhotep Charter, the defending PIAA Class AAA champion, and No. 9 Chester.

At 2:45 at Harriton, No. 8 Haverford School will take on South Kent (Conn.). That will be followed, at 4:30, by No. 5 Martin Luther King vs. Sanford (Del.).

Among the three games at Lower Merion is the 7:30 p.m. contest between the host Aces, defending Class AAAA state champs, and undefeated New Castle, of suburban Pittsburgh.

Great Valley, one of the top teams in the Central League, will face Philadelphia Electrical, one of the Public League's top squads, at 5:45.
