Camden County wins soccer title

The Camden County College men's soccer team has earned the 2013 Garden State Athletic Conference championship with a 10-1 conference record, 14-3 overall.

The Cougars are ranked 11th in Division III of the National Junior College Athletic Association and are the top seed heading into the NJCAA Region XIX tournament.

They have a bye this weekend and will play in the second round of the tournament at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on their home field on the Blackwood Campus in Gloucester Township.

Field hockey. Ursinus scored a pair of goals in the final 12 minutes of the game to surge past the College of New Jersey, 4-3, Thursday on its home field.

The game featured a pair of nationally ranked teams, with the Lions (13-3) coming into the game in the ninth spot and the Bears (11-3) ranked 15th.

TCNJ's Lindsey Hatch (Washington Township) tied it at 2-2 in the second period, then freshman Lexi Smith (Florence Township) got the go-ahead goal. But Megan Keenan netted a penalty stroke for Ursinus and Annie Kopera (Neshaminy)put in the game-winner.
