Owen J. Roberts heavyweight Brad Trego scored a crucial overtime decision to win the final bout of the District 1 Class AAA South wrestling tournament and enable the Wildcats to clinch the team title Saturday night at Spring-Ford.
OJR edged West Chester Rustin, 119.5-118.5, in the team standings as Trego decisioned Ridley's James Brown, 8-7, joining teammate Gordon Bolig (170 pounds) as the Wildcats' individual winners.
Octorara's Brandon Arnsberger (20-2) was named the Outstanding Wrestler after rallying as the No. 5 seed to capture the 145-pound crown with a 4-1 decision over top-seeded Andrew Kinney of Owen J. Roberts.
Boyertown's Jon Neiman also persevered to capture his weight class despite being slotted as the fifth seed. Neiman (34-4) secured the 152 title with an impressive 13-2 major decision over West Chester Rustin's Tom DiSanti.
Boyertown sophomore Jordan Wertz, the No. 6 seed at 195, landed an 8-1 decision over Downingtown East's Adam Pleines to capture the title. Wertz (23-11) finished second at last weekend's Section 4 championships and has won 10 of his last 11 matches.
At 182 pounds, top-seeded Tyler Wood of West Chester Rustin needed just 47 seconds to pin Boyertown's Chase Garber in the final.
The top five finishers from each weight class advance to the Southeast Regionals next weekend at Oxford.

District 12 Class AAA
Host La Salle leaned on the strength of its middleweights to run away with the team title at the District 12 championships. The Explorers won five of seven weight classes between 113 and 152 pounds.
La Salle amassed 219.5 points, bettering Father Judge's 173.
The Explorers' Matt Cimato (29-1) was named the Outstanding Wrestler as he captured the 138-pound title with a 15-0 technical fall over Monsignor Bonner's Joe DePhillipo. Cimato, a senior, hasn't lost a match since Dec. 18.
La Salle's Sal Anderson posted a 10-8 decision over Father Judge's Gary Robinson in the 113-pound final. Bryan Plans rolled to a 14-2 major decision at 120 pounds and Greg Konieczny held on for a close 2-0 decision at 126.
Central's Kobina Amissah was the lone winner from a Public League team, taking 195-pound honors.
