GIRLS' SOCCER

Team   Record

Final, 2011.

 1. Lenape    24-2-1

The Indians were the No. 1 team from the start this year and justified it by winning its fifth consecutive Coaches Tournament and state Group 4 titles.

2. Haddonfield    25-2

A nearly perfect regular season, in which it won its first 22 games, was highlighted by an improbable run to the Coaches Tournament title game. The Bulldogs earned a sectional championship before falling in overtime in state semifinals.

3. Eastern    16-6-2

Eastern was the only New Jersey team to beat Lenape this year. The Vikings topped the Indians, 1-0, on Oct. 19 and tied the Indians, 2-2, on Sept. 26.

4. Paul VI    17-6-2

It was an up-and-down regular season for Paul VI, but the Eagles were strong down the stretch, winning a share of the Olympic Conference National Division and making it to the South Jersey Non-Public A title game.

5. Moorestown    17-4-2

Moorestown, the South Jersey Group 3 champion, was as strong a defensive team as there was in South Jersey this season. The Quakers nearly pulled off an upset of heavily favored Northern Highlands in the state final.

6. Gloucester Catholic    14-3-2

The Rams won yet another Tri-County Diamond Division title before suffering a tough loss to Monsignor Donovan in the second round of the South Jersey Non-Public A tournament.

7. Haddon Township    18-6-2

Led by Patrice Maro and a strong defense, the Hawks won the South Jersey Group 1 title after falling in the previous two sectional finals.

8. Shawnee    15-7-1

The Renegades' seven losses are a bit deceiving considering their grueling regular-season schedule. In its third meeting with Lenape, Shawnee led for much of the game before falling, 2-1, in the South Jersey Group 4 semifinals.

9. Bishop Eustace    11-8-1

Bishop Eustace finished, along with Paul VI, with a share of the Olympic National title and turned in an impressive season after starting 0-4.

10. Timber Creek    14-7-2

Timber Creek fielded one of the most talented teams in South Jersey and turned in a solid regular season before falling in the South Jersey Group 3 semifinals.
