Wood’s Peoples to announce college decision

Desmon Peoples, a fleet-footed junior tailback from Archbishop Wood, will announce his college choice at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Warminster school.

The 5-foot-8, 170-pound Peoples, also dangerous as a kick returner and cornerback, is expected to choose between two Division I programs, Pittsburgh and Rutgers.

Last season, before going down with a foot injury and missing Wood's run to the PIAA Class AAA state semifinals, Peoples gained 1,349 yards and recorded 25 touchdowns. He was an Inquirer first-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania pick as an all-purpose performer.

The Vikings have three other juniors fielding Division I offers: two-way end Colin Thompson, and offensive linemen Frank Taylor and Brandon Arcidiacono.
