The Quakers (7-4 overall, 2-2 division) grabbed a 3-1 first-inning lead but were held in check the rest of the way by pitcher Devon Hedgepeth, who struck out 10 and scattered five hits in a complete-game effort.

The Red Devils (7-2, 3-0) took the lead when Josh Limon scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning, and Nick Cieri added a two-run insurance homer in the seventh.

Also in Burlington County, Delran's Matt Cantor came in and got the last two outs by strikeout, earning a save in relief of Connor Hall as Delran tripped host Cinnaminson, 6-4.

Mark Zagunis hit his sixth and seventh home runs of the season and Jon Walls added his first career homer for Holy Cross in a 17-1 win over visiting Riverside. Zagunis has 26 career homers.

Drew Pedersen pitched four innings to earn his first varsity win and also went 2 for 2 as Bordentown blanked host Westampton Tech, 12-0.

Camden County Tournament. Sterling won a quarterfinal game, 19-7, over Haddonfield at Campbell's Field. Winning pitcher Mark Billingsley went 4 for 4 at the plate, drove in three runs and scored three, while Justin Riccobono added three hits and four RBIs.

Triton advanced via a 9-4 success against Timber Creek in which Tyler Schnapp collected three singles, a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Justin Wroblewski chipped in with two hits, two runs and two runs batted in.

Gloucester cruised through its preliminary game, 15-0, over visiting Camden, led by Justin Mauger's three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. The Lions will face Cherry Hill West on Saturday.Colonial. Sophomore second baseman Alex Irwin singled, doubled twice, stole two bases, scored three runs and knocked in another run for Collingswood in an 11-1 win over visiting Lindenwold.

Olympic. Shawnee broke open a close game at Cherry Hill West with a five-run sixth inning and claimed a 13-7 win. Winning pitcher Dylan Johannick went 3 for 4 with a three-run double in the fifth.

Tri-County. Pennsville's Dom Wishinski had three hits and three RBIs, including a two-run homer amid an 11-3 triumph at Clayton.

Pitman slipped past host Salem, 9-7, to stay unbeaten (9-0). Dan McAteer went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and six RBIs in support of pitcher Johnny Dunn.

Nonleague. Sacred Heart's Tyler Caterina fashioned a 10-0, one-hit shutout at Peddie School, and helped himself by driving in a pair of runs.

Volleyball

Eric Zaun set a Cherry Hill East school record with 22 kills in one match, dominating the Cougars' 25-18, 25-18 Olympic Conference win over visiting Eastern. Zaun also had 11 digs, while Greg Slaton posted 23 assists, and Christian Strauss added six kills and six digs.

Lacrosse

New Egypt senior Dylan Wills assisted on two goals and scored six times, including the 100th of his career, highlighting a 16-4 win at Hamilton West.

Jason Gerst scored his only goal of the Olympic Conference game with six seconds remaining on an unassisted play, lifting Lenape to a dramatic 11-10 win over visiting Cherry Hill East. Reed Hofmann paced the Indians with six goals.

Holy Cross pulled off a 13-12 upset at Haddonfield, ranked No. 6 in South Jersey by The Inquirer. Hunter Steel provided most of the Wildcats' offense with seven goals.
