After giving up five runs in the first two innings, Holt buckled down to strike out 16 batters and lead Strawberry Mansion past the visiting Raptors, 6-5, in a Public League baseball game Tuesday.

The sophomore pitcher has struck out 29 batters and given up just six hits over the first two games of the season, covering 12 innings.

The Knights scored the winning run in the fourth inning when Baynard Brandon doubled home Rashaun Festus.

Ryan Gonzalez pitched a complete game, struck out 12, and smacked the game-winning single in the third inning to boost Furness past host Boys' Latin, 3-2.

Donald Patterson went three for four with a double, scored three runs and drove in a pair of runs to spark Del-Val Charter to a 16-13 win over visiting Communications Tech.

Bob Tinney picked up three singles, stole a pair of bases, scored twice and knocked in two runs to help Saul beat visiting Germantown, 15-5.

Eliantonio Martinez tossed a four-inning one-hitter, struck out 11 and hit a three-run homer to end the game as Fels crushed visiting Bartram, 15-0.

Khalil Coles pitched a six-inning no-hitter to help Ben Franklin beat host West Philadelphia, 18-1.

Coles struck out 11, walked three, and hit a batter. Bryan Davenport was 2 for 4 and drove in four runs.

Del-Val. Damon Scipio struck out nine over five innings and helped Glen Mills hold visiting Academy Park to one hit in a 7-2 victory.

Bicentennial. Eric Wilcox drilled a two-run homer in the fifth inning and helped Devon Prep beat host Morrisville, 12-11.

Kelvin Ortiz knocked in three runs with two singles and a triple as Bristol got past visiting Plumstead Christian, 9-6.

Nonleague. Brendan Zarrilli scored in the eighth inning and gave Shipley a 1-0 win over Fieldston (N.Y.) at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.

Zarrilli hit a leadoff single and eventually scored on a passed ball. G.T. Harris pitched a complete game, struck out six, walked one and gave up just one hit, a triple in the seventh inning.

Also at Disney, Nick Craig ripped a double, two singles and drove in three runs as Haverford School downed Hortonville (Wisc.), 7-1.

In Fort Pierce, Fla., Chestnut Hill Academy scored twice in the bottom of the sixth and beat Lawrence Academy (Mass.), 2-1.

Matt Primavera knocked in both runs with a single.

The Blue Devils then beat St. Margaret's (Mo.), 6-3, after Dan Hull belted a two-run single in the sixth inning.

Martin Evans scored on a Hermes Paez sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning and handed Church Farm a 6-5 win over visiting West-Mont Christian.

Austin Tarpey struck out six over six innings and led North Penn to a 4-3 win over visiting Parkland.

Chris Hunter's RBI single with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the seventh inning drove in Zack Sibel with the winning run in Pennsbury's 3-2 win over visiting Souderton.

Callum McEwen struck out eight and earned the win as Abington Friends got past visiting Barrack Hebrew, 12-10.

Simon Galer cracked three singles, scored three times and drove in three runs as Westtown tripped visiting Phelps, 15-5.

Lacrosse

Christopher Lyons scored off an assist from Jonathan Erb during a second overtime period and gave Roman Catholic a 7-6 win over host Upper Darby in a nonleague game.

Turner Simon collected five goals and Gannon Meister stopped 11 shots to lead Kennett past visiting Central Bucks South, 12-3.

Public. Colin Kramer came through with five goals and five assists to lift Washington past Mastery Charter Shoemaker, 12-0, at Gratz.
