Fri. S.J. girls’ roundup: Trenton Catholic wins for share of Liberty

Robin Perkins made six three-point baskets in scoring 21 for Trenton Catholic, which ran out to a 32-8 lead and never looked back.

South Jersey Invitational. Brianna Logan (11 points) and Natalya Lee (10) paced a balanced attack, as second-seeded Rancocas Valley cruised past No. 15 seed Collingswood, 57-28, in an opening-round game.

The Red Devils advance to play No. 7 seed Delran on Sunday in the 6 p.m. nightcap of a quarterfinal doubleheader at Kingsay. Fourth-seeded Willingboro and No. 12 seed Cinnaminson square off at 4 p.m.

Cape-Atlantic. Ali Dandrea finished strong, scoring 10 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter to rally Our Lady of Mercy to a 57-54 win at St. Joseph. The Wildcats' Jade Howard countered with 19 points.

Tenisha Mobley had 13 points to lead 11 Holy Spirit scorers in a 52-24 romp at Cedar Creek.

Mariah Smolka, with 12 points, was Middle Township's lone double-figure scorer as the Panthers mauled host Wildwood Catholic, 49-26.

Many Buirch and Brittany Harden combined for 30 points in Sacred Heart's 72-17 rout at Pleasantville.

Olympic. Sara Farrell scored 12 points, including a layup off an inbounds pass with 12 seconds to go to lift Cherokee over host Timber Creek, 39-37. Jasmine Martin had 18 points and nine rebounds for the Chargers.

Tri-County. Jewel Brown picked up 10 of her 22 points in a game-opening, 16-0 run, paving the way for Clayton's 43-32 triumph at Wildwood.

Nonleague. Megan Fox hit a floater from the lane with 6.8 seconds left, giving Woodbury a 49-48 victory at Highland. Dominique Sellers (19 points) and Fox (16) paced the Thundering Herd, while Mercedes Gonzalez pulled down a game-high 19 rebounds for the Tartans.

Kelly Brewster (10 points) drained a pair of free throws with 13 seconds remaining, allowing host West Deptford to hold off Woodrow Wilson, 55-53. The Eagles' Tina D'Aiutolo had a game-high 17 points, while Shanice Maynard and Chanelle Perry scored 15 apiece for Wilson.

Erica Estevez had 13 points, Stephanie Toy and Marisa Randazzo scored 11 apiece and Moorestown parlayed a fast start into a 49-42 triumph at Audubon. Alex Gravinese scored 15 for the Green Wave.

Kelcie Evans (23 points) teamed with Sophia Aguilar (12) to offset a 31-point performance by Camden Academy Charter's Kimberlyn Roy, carrying host Moorestown Friends to a 50-42 victory.

Top-seeded Cherry Hill East put its depth on display, as eight Cougars won individual events in a 120-50 victory over No. 8 seed Freehold Township in the Central Jersey Public A quarterfinals.

In another quarterfinal, Emily Bennett, Nicole Jibrine, and Emily Werth each had a pair of wins to key fourth-seeded Cherokee's 116-54 triumph over No. 5 seed Shawnee.

South Jersey Public A. Erin Curry prevailed in the 200 individual medley and the 400 freestyle, highlighting top-seeded Mainland's 130-40 domination of No. 8 seed Southern Regional.

South Jersey Public B. Natasha Rivera swept the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly, and Lynn Juan prevailed in the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle for top-seeded Cherry Hill West, as the Lions dispatched No. 8 seed GCIT, 119-51.
