Last Friday, the nonleague game between the Panthers and Electrons ended due to darkness with 3 minutes, 21 seconds left and Fels was awarded the victory, 48-46. But Public League officials decreed that it should be played to its conclusion Thursday. Fels was again declared the winner, 56-46.
The Panthers (8-3) scored the lone points during the continuation when Terry Brown scored on a 60-yard sprint with just over a minute left and ran for a two-point conversion.
His points allowed Fels and Franklin to tie the single-game record for most points involving two Public League teams with 102. The Panthers and Gratz established the record on Sept. 3 when the Bulldogs beat Fels, 66-36.
Tyree Rucker established school records with 324 yards and six scoring passes for the Panthers. Nijah Kelly set school records with 143 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions. Jonathan Parker caught three scoring passes for the Electrons.
The combined-points record came within 5 yards of falling. A Franklin player intercepted a pass at the 2-yard line and returned it 93 yards to the Fels' 5-yard line before he was tackled and the clock expired.
