Tues. Pa. boys’ roundup: GFS beats Episcopal again

Familiarity may be breeding contempt between the soccer teams at Germantown Friends and Episcopal Academy.

Sam Conant scored with eight minutes left in the game to give the Tigers a 1-0 nonleague win over the host Churchmen. Germantown Friends had not beaten Episcopal in 35 years going into last season, but have now beaten the Churchmen in their last two meetings.

In the 72d minute, Conant sent a long pass from Devon Smith inside the right post. Brendan McEwen kept Episcopal off the scoreboard with four saves.
