Mike Mobley helped Simon Gratz do something it hasn't done in 60 years - celebrate a football championship.

Saturday, Mobley scored all of the points for the Bulldogs (7-4) in an 8-2 win over Dobbins for the Public League Class AAA title in a game played at Northeast.

In 1949, led by an all-league back named Les Graves, the Bulldogs won the then single-division Public League with a 6-0 record before falling to North Catholic in the City Title game.

Mobley's 34-yard run and his two-point conversion run were the only points produced by the Bulldogs (7-4).

All of the game's scoring occurred in the third quarter and the Mustangs (7-3) remained within striking distance by scoring on a safety.

Both defenses dominated after that.

PIAA Class A

In a sub-regional game at Bristol, quarterback Mike Reichenbach scored on three touchdown runs and completed eight of 10 passes for 110 yards, leading Calvary Christian to a 35-8 win over High School of the Future.

Reichenbach's favorite receiver was Jordan Tarnoviski, who caught six of those balls for 97 of the 110 yards.

Ian Richardson added 103 yards rushing for the Cougars (8-1).

Sterling Taylor led High School of the Future (6-5) with 75 yards on the ground.

St. Pius X 26, Del-Val Charter 14 - The Winged Lions (7-4) survived and advanced despite a respectable showing from the visiting Warriors (7-3).

St. Pius X entered the tournament as the second seed. It advances to a second-round date against top-seeded Calvary Christian.

Cole Parkinson scored on a pair of touchdown runs for the Winged Lions.

PIAA Class AA

In a sub-regional game at Southern, Andre Frazier threw for a pair of touchdowns and ran for another score as Bok put away Lower Moreland, 42-0.

Frazier completed seven of his nine passes for 76 yards and Jahid Ward made four of those catches for 56 yards.

The win set up a second-round showdown against West Catholic, where Bok head coach Tom DeFelice played quarterback.

The Wildcats (10-0) dominated a Lower Moreland team that had come into the game with some impressive wins, including a 26-7 win over Class A powerhouse Calvary Christian and a 19-12 win over a good Bristol team.

Shaquil Sammons and Robert Quarter intercepted passes for the Wildcats.
