Ashworth, a 6-foot-2 senior guard, scored a career-high 39 points, fueled by 17-for-18 free-throw shooting, as the Bucks needed double overtime to subdue host Wissahickon, 81-69, in a nonleague game.

The Bucks (15-5) made 27 of 31 free throws for the night. Chris McDevitt chipped in with 24 points for West.

The Trojans got 26 points from Dan Delconte and made 12 of their 15 free throws.

In other nonleague games:

Nick DeLuca's two free throws with three seconds left gave Holy Ghost Prep a 40-39 win over visiting Harriton.

Avon Grove rallied with a 15-5 fourth-quarter run to beat visiting Spring-Ford, 34-32.

Tayquane Wallace's 24 points powered host Glen Mills past rival Coatesville, 76-73. Wallace's driving basket with 21 seconds left put the Bulldogs (15-4) up by one, 74-73, their first lead of the second half. Alonzo Jones then hit a pair of free throws to put the game away.

Bryan Harrity scored 10 points for Central Bucks South in a 51-23 win at Penncrest.

Evan Tozer's 21 points powered Interboro to a 69-44 win over visiting Paul Robeson.

Pennsylvania/New York Challenge. Only a 75-footer at the buzzer prevented a Pennsylvania sweep at Council Rock South.

Tunde Bello dialed up a three-pointer from his own free-throw line that went through as the buzzer sounded, giving Telecommunications and Arts (N.Y.) a 54-51 win over Council Rock North in the day's second game.

In the first one, Abington coasted to a 53-47 win over the Brooklyn (N.Y.) Automotive Tech Pistons.

The rubber game went to Council Rock South, which used spectacular scoring balance to saddle Newtown of Queens (N.Y) with a 56-48 loss.

All five starters scored in double figures, with Joe Crane leading the way with 11 points and five assists. The others, Jim Bea, Eric Beck, Jamie Conway and Jake Lerner all scored 10 points apiece.

Inter-Ac. D.J. Johnston scored 19 points to lead Germantown Academy to a 66-53 win at Episcopal Academy.

Joe Hoban had 10 points, six rebounds and five assists for host Malvern Prep in a 60-39 win over Chestnut Hill Academy.

Our Saviour Showcase. At Our Saviour New American (N.Y.), Solebury School got 19 points from Kyree Gordon in a 49-43 win over St. Mary's Anapolis (Conn.). The Spartans shot 16 for 23 from the line, while the losers were just 4 for 11 from the line.

La Salle won at Archbishop Wood, 59-9. Kevin Klohe pinned Mike Schisselbauer in just 13 seconds at 171.

Other first-period pins for La Salle included Matt Mooney (112 pounds), Chris Webb (125) and heavyweight Andrew Furlong.

Nick Cardone's 48-second pin at 140 pounds was a highlight for St. Joseph's Prep in a 63-16 win over visiting Archbishop Carroll.

Pioneer Athletic. Matt Stipa and Mike Salamone earned pins in under a minute to highlight Spring-Ford's 67-6 romp at St. Pius X. Stipa pinned Rob Weber in 50 seconds at 103; Salamone, a heavyweight, decked Mike Ciocci in 56 seconds. Teammate Matt Patterson (171) earned an 18-2 technical fall over Grant Sturgeon.

, Bernard Goodwyn's lean at the tape was enough to win an exciting open 800-meter race in the Division I portion of the Coaches Association meet.

Goodwyn, from Glen Mills, was part of a group of three runners who crossed the line in the same time (2 minutes, 4.7 seconds) but was ruled ahead of second-place Zach Montijo of North Penn and Upper Dublin's Dan Kessler.

In the Division II meet at Widener, Penn Charter's 4x176-yard relay team posted a meet-record time of 1:15.1, a full four seconds ahead of second-place Haverford School (1:19.2).
