Daly says PGA Tour's drug-testing policy 'a joke'

JOHN DALY has taken a swing at the PGA Tour's drug-testing policy.

Daly, on his radio show, "Hit It Hard With John Daly" on Sirius/XM, said the Tour notifies players before they will be tested, given them time to clean up their act.

"It's not random; it's a big a joke," Daly said. "This whole drug testing is a joke."

Daly said he expects to be tested before this week's Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Fla.

"I know when I'm getting drug tested," he said. "That's sad . . . And for you dopers and all that [crap] on the PGA Tour, you know you're getting drug tested, you got it made! And I'm tired of it."

Daly also had a message for Tour commissioner Tim Finchem and chief of operations Andy Pazder.

"Andy Pazder, if you listen to this show, you and Tim Finchem get off your ass and get it right," Daly said. "You know, I'm tired of it. Because it has to be random; this is [bullbleep]. And I'm sorry, fine me, I don't care what you do, fine me, but do it randomly."

Yesterday, the Tour issued statement addressing Daly's comments, while saying its drug-testing program is regarded as "the most comprehensive and credible program in professional golf."

The statement went on to say, "Contrary to his assertions, John Daly has never been targeted for testing and his claim that players know when they will be tested is simply not true."

According to the team's website, it's a hotdog wrapped in a Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut bun, topped with a line of raspberry jelly and chunks of bacon.
