Lange, Guttman win berths in U.S. Senior Open
Chris Lange of Bryn Mawr birdied two of the first three holes at his home Overbrook Golf Club yesterday on his way to a 1-over-par 71, earning a berth in the U.S. Senior Open.
Lange had four birdies and survived a double-bogey on the 16th hole to grab one of two available berths in the USGA's Senior Open, to be held July 30 to Aug. 2 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.
Mo Guttman, a retired pro from Sarasota, Fla., birdied the 18th hole to share medalist honors with Lange and claim the other berth among a field of 66 amateurs and professionals.
Lange won the Philadelphia Open in 2004, and is a three-time winner of the Philadelphia Amateur.
