Tiger wins U.S. Open playoff in sudden death on 19th hole

Rocco hits his driver 250 yards into left fairway bunker, leaving 275 yards to the green. He blasts out to fairway, leaving 123 yards to green. He hits his wedge to 15 feet for birdie. his birdie putt runs 3 feet past.

Tiger makes his birdie putt.

Rocco makes his par putt.

They finish 18 holes at even par.

Play-off now goes to sudden death, starting with the 7th hole.

At the 7th, a par 4, Tiger hits driver to the right edge of the fairway, leaving 156 yards to the hole. His approach shot finds the front edge of green, leaving 20 footer for birdie.

Rocco hits driver into fairway bunker. He has a decent, but not great lie in the sand. His second shot flies left and short of the green, bounces off a cart path and settles up against grandstand, entitling him to a free drop. He gets decent lie in the rough and pitches to 18 feet.

Tiger's birdie putt stops two inches short, as Woods drops to his knees urging it on. He taps in for par.

Rocco must make the putt to play on, but it slides by on the right side. Game over. Woods wins.
