Local club pros prepare for PGA of America national championship

The PGA Professional National Championship, the biggest tournament of the year for club professionals, starts Sunday at Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Courses in Seaside, Calif.

Thirteen members of the Philadelphia Section PGA are among the contestants in the 312-player field for the 72-hole tournament which ends Wednesday.

The top 20 finishers will qualify for the PGA Championship, which will be held in August on the Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, S.C.

The Philadelphia area players competing are:
