Timonen out vs. Blues

ST. LOUIS -- The Flyers will be without defenseman Kimmo Timonen on Tuesday night, as he did not make the trip to St. Louis with the team. Timonen, 39, did not practice on Monday and he is listed as “day-to-day” with a vague “upper-body” injury.

ST. LOUIS -- The Flyers will be without defenseman Kimmo Timonen on Tuesday night, as he did not make the trip to St. Louis with the team. Timonen, 39, did not practice on Monday and he is listed as “day-to-day” with a vague “upper-body” injury.

Boston’s Kevan Miller did, however, take a high slap shot that bounced off of a shoulder pad in front and caught Timonen under his visor in the second period of Sunday’s shootout loss to the Bruins.

Erik Gustafsson will replace Timonen in the lineup. Gustafsson has not played a game since Feb. 27, when he rotated in and out of the lineup with Andrej Meszaros before Andrew MacDonald was acquired on March 2. With MacDonald in town, Gustafsson has been pushed further down the depth chart.

(Fellow spare defenseman Hal Gill has not played since Dec. 21).

Timonen, who has 5 points in his last 8 games, will miss his 4th game of the season. One of those was for rest after the Olympic break. The Flyers are 2-1-0 without him.
