Pronger out indefinitely with 'concussion like symptoms'

POSTED: Friday, December 9, 2011, 12:31 PM

The Flyers announced that Chris Pronger  and Brayden Schenn will both be out indefinitely.

While Chris knee is improving, he has struggled with other issues that are concussion like symptoms. Chris will see Dr. Joe Maroon and Dr. Mickey Collins on Wednesday, December 14th in Pittsburgh for further evaluation. Chris will be out indefinetly.

GM Paul Holmgrem said today: "While Chris' knee is improving, he has struggled with other issues that are concussion like symptoms. Chris will see Dr. Joe Maroon and Dr. Mickey Collins on Wednesday, December 14th in Pittsburgh for further evaluation. Chris will be out indefinetly.

Pronger missed four games with what the team described as a virus last month before announcing that he would need left knee surgery.

Collins is the doctor whom Sidney Crosby saw for his concussion.

Schenn has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury.

"Brayden reported 'not feeling himself' on December 5th," Holmgren said. "Our doctors believe he has a mild concussion. Brayden will be out indefinitely."

He's done, once injuries start to mount like they have with Prongs, its a clear sign the body is starting to break down. Last night's game proved Marshall and Bourdon are for real.

Pronger is starting to remind me of the haunt of every year HOPING Kerr and Howe would finally be healthy again for one more run. Schenn= trade chip to get the vet D help we need when they finally LTIR Prongs.

Pronger is long in the tooth. He can't stay on the ice, and is another reminder why you don't sign 35+ year olds to long contracts.

Goooood,,Im glad Pronger is out indefinetly.Hes old, slow, and the biggist cry baby with a stinkin pompous attitude. And I wish Braydon Coburn had the same symptoms as Pronger because he Absoutely Stinks.I cant believe he is signed long term he cannot handle a puck and is a turnover machine in his own zone. And as for Schenn, hurt or not,he is just another overated player sold to the fans by the Flyers organization. The mixture of young and old on this team is a good thing but Pronger is toast and now a blight on this team.Ten years ago I would have loved to see him in a Flyers uniform now I just want to see him out of it!

"I'm a real Philly fan. Only real Philly fans hate their team. Only real fans take time out of their day to post their complaints about their favorite team and whine about all the things they don't like. Only real fans believe they could do a better job at building and managing their favorite team. You all here are nothing more than kool-aid drinking sheep giving your money away. I'M THE REAL FAN!"

Glad for Pronger's head injury? Wishing the same for Coburn? What a class act. Oh, and as much as I like Pronger, I've never wanted to see him out of his uniform, never even gave it a thought, but to each his own.

Bummer...well at least they can LTIR Pronger and maybe pull off a trade if needed. I dont think you do anything now, Flyers are playing pretty well. As for Schenn, there were a lot of scouts hyping that kid so cant blame that all on the Flyers.

Watch Schenn skate, he never goes near contact and runs from it if someone comes near. He's not NHL caliber and needs to be traded or just waived. Remember where you heard it. I said this when we got him. He is "The Glass Man".
