Springfield’s Wade MacLeod suffered a seizure during an AHL game Sunday against the visiting Adirondack Phantoms, the Flyers’ top farm team.
MacLeod was “stable and alert,” Springfield said in a news release.
The game was suspended with 3:42 left in the second period and the Phantoms holding a 2-1 lead.
According to the PostStar, the Phantoms’ Brandon Manning was given a two-minute minor penalty for boarding on the play in which MacLeod hit his head on the glass. MacLeod got up at first and Manning took a seat in the penalty box as the players returned to their respective benches. About 20 seconds after the hit, MacLeod collapsed in front of the bench, Phantoms head coach Terry Murray told the newspaper.
