DON'T FORGET CHARITY: As we move into 2012 this weekend, try not to forget giving back. There will be two worthwhile charities setup in the humongous spectator plaza (which does not require a ticket) on Citizens Bank Way at the ballpark.
Alex's Lemonade Stand, a charity with local roots, will have two different booths setup for donations. They are being run by childhood heroes and their families, dealing with or having survived cancer, who are huge hockey fans.
Also, the NHL will be holding a hockey equipment donation drive to gather used (but serviceable) equipment for youth hockey programs, like the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation in Philadelphia, that service underprivileged boys and girls.
