Without any salary cap in the playoffs, the Flyers are free to re-call any player to their roster that was on their reserve list by the March 3 trade deadline.

Tomorrow, they will add seven players to their roster for their playoff run.

Forwards Jon Kalinski, Andreas Nodl and David Laliberte will join defensemen Kevin Marshall, Danny Syvret and Joonas Lehtivuori in the Flyers’ locker room on Tuesday.

Goaltender Jeremy Duchesne will also re-join the team, in case Johan Backlund is not healthy enough to backup Brian Boucher in New Jersey on Wednesday.

Backlund said today he is feeling much better than he did over the weekend. Since the Phantoms’ season ended on Saturday, general manager Paul Holmgren said he felt more comfortable having a third goaltender around for the playoffs, just in case.

Since Sebastien Caron was signed on April 2, Caron is not eligible to backup for Boucher during the playoffs.

Caron was packing his bags today at the Skate Zone and said he will return to his home in Quebec for the summer. Caron earned $25,906 for his 10 days on the Flyers' roster.

ALSO: Brian Boucher, Matt Carle, Jeff Carter, Danny Briere, Mike Richards, Chris Pronger, Kimmo Timonen and Ville Leino opted to skip practice today to rest after Sunday's thrilling, 2-1 shootout win over the Rangers.

Leino's rear end must have been killing him from sitting in the press box.

Yes. As inconsistent as they've been, the one thing they've done consistently is play up or down to their competition. Flyers not as much an underdog as others think.. Blowdoor has been showing serious signs of his advanced age.. Flyers in 6.

I'm not surprised Richards skipped practice. He was probably out celebrating the win all night last night. Why would the Captain show up to practice?

Caron is planning a nice vacation with the $25000 he picked up for sitting on the bench. Good work, if you can get it.

I'm sure Bobby Clarke missed practice too when he was the captain...he would have killed anyone who did, I mean dear god...now that was a captain.

More sarcasm and negativity. Its playoff time, a new start how about some positive energy. Richards and Briere gave everything they had Sunday.

People have no idea how professional sports works. Do you really think that Richards needs to go to practice the day after finishing an 82 game schedule? It obviously was not a "practice" as much as an "OPTIONAL skate!" I would rather Boucher, RIchards, Carter, etc were all there risking an injury, and making sure they were not conserving energy for a lengthy playoff run. If you hate this team, why do you bother coming here? As far as the call ups, they are there for injury and emergency purpose. Every team makes these call ups, either to give security, or show the future players the intensity of being a pro. One of them might actually see action for a game or something...its insignificant, really.
