The Flyers confirmed on Thursday night that they have signed free agent center Kyle Flanagan to a one-year entry level contract for next season.
The 24-year-old will be assigned to the AHL’s Adirondack Phantoms for the remainder of the season on an amateur tryout agreement. Flanagan scored 15 goals and recorded 32 assists as a senior last season at St. Lawrence University in his hometown of Canton, N.Y. He is a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, which is given each year to the nation's top collegiate player.
Other moves. Left winger Harry Zolnierczyk has been recalled from Adirondack and participated in Thursday’s Flyers practice at Voorhees.
Cal Heeter, a 24-year-old goalie, has been reassigned from Trenton to Adirondack. He signed a two-year contract with the Flyers last March out of Ohio State. With the Buckeyes, he posted a 2.58 goals-against average and a .915 save-percentage.
