HOLMGREN SAYS: General manager Paul Holmgren said he is "95 percent" sure that Andrej Meszaros will play this weekend. Meszaros had surgery to repair a torn Achilles on Aug. 9 ... Holmgren officially ruled out Briere for the weekend, freeing up a roster spot. He said Briere has progressed nicely and will be "day-to-day" after the weekend ... Briere's situation allows the Flyers a "longer look" at Laughton.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I think we have a good team. I think when you're looking at the schedule with 48 games in 99 days or whatever it is we're in for a wild ride and there's three or four big factors. The three off the top of my head you've got to be healthy, you need good goaltending and I think you need young legs and depth  so I think, the unknowns are goaltending and injuries." - Paul Holmgren
