Highlights of Flyers' schedule
The NHL’s collective bargaining agreement was ratified Saturday and a Moratorium of Understanding was signed, meaning players and coaches can get on the ice together.
The Flyers will open the 48-game regular season against visiting Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon and end it on April 27 in Ottawa. They will play seven games in the first 11 days, including two against the Rangers.
The Flyers will play seven games in January, 15 in a brutal February, 13 in March and 13 in April.
The schedule will include 10 sets of games on back-to-back days/nights. A year ago, they played seven sets of back-to-back games in their last 48 contests.
The Flyers will play 48 games in 99 days. Last year, they played their final 48 games in 103 days.
The revised schedule has the Flyers playing only Eastern Conference teams, including 18 against Atlantic Division foes. The schedule includes five games each against the Rangers (three at the WFC) and Devils, and four games each against the Penguins and Islanders.
The Flyers will have a six-game road trip from Feb. 11 to Feb. 20, traveling to Toronto, Winnipeg, New Jersey, Montreal, the Islanders and Pittsburgh. They will have a pair of five-game homestands during the season.
The Flyers will have two home games and one road contest against Boston, Ottawa, Carolina, Florida and Washington. They will have one home game and two road contests against Buffalo, Montreal, Toronto, Tampa Bay and Winnipeg.
On Tuesday, tickets will go on sale starting at 10 a.m.; they are available online or at the WFC ticket office.
Flyers' Wives Carnival. The Flyers' Wives Carnival will be held on March 3 at the Wells Fargo Center. Ticket info will be released at a later date.
Thanking fans. The Flyers said as a way to thank fans for their patience and understanding during the 113-day lockout, they would have a free, open practice at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday at 6 p.m., along with other fan-friendly events during the week.
On Tuesday at 12:15 p.m., along the Haddonfield shopping district on Kings Highway, the Flyers' "Street Team" will distribute free T-shirts and cheer cards. They will do likewise on Thursday at the Reading Terminal Market at 12:15 p.m.
