Flyers' D suffers another injury

Braydon Coburn became the latest Flyers defenseman to go down with an injury.

Coburn suffered an unspecified second-period injury and did not return in the Flyers' 4-3 shootout loss to the visiting New York Islanders on Thursday.

In the last six days, defensemen Nick Grossmann, Andrej Meszaros and Coburn have been sidelined, leaving the blue line extremely thin.

The extent of Coburn's injury should be known Friday.

Oliver Lauridsen, Andreas Lilja and Danny Syvret are among the potential call-ups from the AHL Phantoms.

Marc-Andre Bourdon, who was impressive when recalled by the Flyers last year, has missed most of the season with a concussion.

Decision day? Western Michigan's Dan DeKeyser, a 6-3 sophomore regarded as the top defenseman among college free agents, is expected to choose his NHL team Friday. The Flyers are among the many suitors, but they may lose out to Detroit.
