Flyers' 20-Game Home Winning Streak

The Flyers' record-tying 20-game home winning streak, set in 1975-76.

Not only will the Flyers be trying to get the taste of another loss to the Rangers out of their mouths Sunday night in Detroit, they will be trying to keep one of their own NHL records intact.

The Red Wings have won 19 consecutive home games, one off the record set by the 1929-30 Boston Bruins and tied by the Flyers during the 1975-76 season.

Below is the Flyers' record-setting streak (Source: flyershistory.com)

Notable: There was no overtime or shootouts in the 1975-76 regular season; 60 minutes was it. The Red Wings have an OT win and three shootout victories in their current home win streak ... The Flyers outscored their visitors 106-33 over the 20 games, and allowed no more than two goals in any of the last 18 matches ... Reggie Leach and Bill Barber each had five game-winning goals (the goal that gives the Flyers one more than their opponent finished the game with) during the streak. Defenseman Andre DuPont was the only other player with more than one ... The streak covered the last 20 games of the regular season. The Flyers won their first four home playoff games that postseason, but they are not officially included. The Bruins won the Flyers' fifth home playoff game, fitting since Boston had been the the last team to win at the Spectrum during the regular season, a 4-2 decision on Dec. 28 ... The Flyers dropped the 1976-77 home opener on Oct. 7 to the Islanders, 3-0.
