Ray Emery, who is battling Steve Mason for the starting goalie job, will start for the Flyers Monday night when they play Washington in an exhibition game at the Wells Fargo Center.

Emery is coming off a spectacular season with the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks: a 17-1 record and 1.94 GAA.

The Flyers' other split squad will play in Toronto on Monday, and former Ohio State star Cal Heetr will be in the nets for the visitors.

The 7 p.m. game at the Wells Fargo Center will be the Flyers debuts for center Vinny Lecavalier and defenseman Mark Streit.

Breakaways. Winger Zac Rinaldo, who suffered an upper-body injury in Sunday's loss, is listed as day to day.....The Flyers will host the New York Rangers in a televised game Tuesday.
