Doan cleared to face Flyers

GLENDALE, Ariz. _ Phoenix Coyotes captain Shane Doan is returning just in time to face the Flyers on Saturday night.

The Coyotes announced Friday that Doan had been cleared to play. The 37-year-old center was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever in December and hasn't played since Dec. 4.

While on his free-agent tour in 2012, Doan visited the Flyers before re-sgining with Phoenix.

The Flyers are expected to have Matt Read back in the lineup Saturday after missing one game with an upper-body injury. Read will be a game-time decision.

Michael Raffl with miss the game with a concussion suffered in Thursday's 2-1 loss in Colorado.

The Flyers are 3-1 on their six-game trip, with games left against the Coyotes and New Jersey.

The team will return home after facing the Coyotes and practice in Voorhees before meeting the Devils in Newark on Tuesday.
