Future NHL players will be showcased Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Center at the fifth annual All-American Prospects game.

The matchup will feature 42 of the top American-born prospects eligible for the 2017 NHL draft. Morrisville's Evan Barratt, Perkiomenville's Josh Maniscalco and Voorhees' Cayden Primeau are among the participants. Primeau's father, Keith, is a former Flyer.

Cayden Primeau, who has committed to Northeastern University in 2017, is considered one of the area's premier goalie prospects.

Former Flyers Mark Howe and John LeClair, each of whom are U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame members, will coach the respective teams.

Tickets will be sold at the door and are available at AllAmericanProspectsGame.com. or at WellsFargoCenterPhilly.com.

Myers returns

After missing development camp in July because he was recovering from hip surgery, fast-rising defenseman Phil Myers was on the ice during the first day of rookie camp Tuesday in Voorhees.

"I'm pretty happy that I've come this far," said Myers, a 6-foot-5, 204-pounder who earned an entry-level contract in last year's training camp. "My hip has recovered pretty well during the summer. We just need to loosen it up, and hopefully it'll be good for October" and the start of his junior season.

Myers, 19, had a torn labrum in his left hip and a pubic plate detachment that were repaired June 22.

"I'm happy I got it done. I had to get it done at one point of my life and might as well get it over with now," said Myers, who is considered one of the best prospects in the Flyers' system.

Breakaways

Hard-nosed forward Roman Lyubimov, a free-agent signee who played the last six years in Russia's KHL, will be given a chance to make the team as a third- or fourth-liner and penalty killer. Lyubimov, who is bringing his wife and daughter to the area, said he tries to model his game after the Flyers' Sean Couturier. . . . Defenseman Ivan Provorov was paired with Travis Sanheim for some of Tuesday's drills. . . . In an all-rookie game in Long Island on Wednesday, the Flyers will face the Islanders. Kerry Huffman and Riley Cote will coach the 21 Flyers prospects.
