Of the Flyers' first 39 games, 23 will be on the road.
The Kings, whose lineup includes ex-Flyers Jeff Carter, Justin Williams, and Mike Richards, visit the Wells Fargo Center on Oct. 28.
The Flyers open their 48th season at Boston on Oct. 8, then host Jaromir Jagr and the New Jersey Devils the next night, starting a three-game homestand.
Last season, a franchise-worst 1-7 start caused the Flyers to play catch-up. They finished 42-30-10 - 24-14-3 at home, 18-16-7 on the road.
Among the highlights of the 2014-15 schedule:
The Flyers will go on a season-high eight-game road trip that starts Dec. 20 and is interrupted by the Christmas break. The trip takes the Flyers to Toronto, Winnipeg, Minnesota, Nashville, Arizona, Colorado, Carolina, and New Jersey.
The longest homestand - five games - starts Jan. 20 against archrival Pittsburgh, which also plays at the Wells Fargo Center on April 5.
The Flyers once again will face every NHL team at least once at home and once on the road; they oppose all of their Metropolitan Division opponents at least four times. The schedule includes a fifth game against two of their division rivals, Carolina and Columbus.
The 38th annual Flyers Wives Carnival will be held March 1 at the Wells Fargo Center.
Breakaways
Several ex-Flyers have a chance to be named to hockey's Hall of Fame on Monday, including Mark Recchi, Eric Lindros, Peter Forsberg, John LeClair, Jeremy Roenick, and Rod Brind'Amour. Flyers executive Bob Clarke is a first-year member of the Hall of Fame selection committee. . . . Flyers captain Claude Giroux is one of three finalists for the Hart Trophy for MVP, which will be awarded Tuesday night in Las Vegas. Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby, who is the heavy favorite, and Anaheim's Ryan Getzlaf are the other finalists. . . . After 32 years on the job, Flyers press-box steward Gene Prince is retiring and moving to South Carolina.
