THE NHL lockout entered its fourth week Sunday and the Flyers already have realized their biggest fear, watching one of their players sustain an injury while playing overseas.

According to a report on his club's website, Flyers forward Jake Voracek sprained his right knee in the third period of a game Saturday night while playing for HC Lev Praha in the KHL. The severity of his injury remains unclear.

"Early indication is he'll be out of the lineup about 4 weeks," Lev Praha said in a translated statement on its website.

Voracek, 23, has one goal and seven assists in seven games for Lev Praha, the KHL's only team playing out of his native Czech Republic. He is one of seven Flyers playing overseas.

Technically, Voracek is not Flyers property during the lockout, and as such, the team offered no comment on his injury.

All players under NHL contract were required to insure every dollar of their deal against injury before going overseas. Voracek signed a 4-year, $17 million extension with the Flyers this summer and is expected to replace the departed Jaromir Jagr on the team's top line with Claude Giroux.
