Bernie Parent, the star of the Winter Classic alumni game, will join the honorees at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, and his introduction should bring down the house, just as it did at Citizens Bank Park.

He'll be joined by current star, and the outstanding Philadelphia pro athlete recipient, Claude Giroux, who should be returning from the NHL All-Star game, which will be played in Ottawa the day before the banquet.

Also on hand will be Phillies manager Charlie Manuel who will be honored for becoming the team's all-time winningest manager, and his rightfielder, Hunter Pence, who will receive the Good Guy award for cooperation with the media.

Other honorees include Philadelphia Living Legend Herb Magee, Villanova's Sheila Reid, the outstanding amateur athlete, Giants righthander Ryan Vogelsong from Downingtown, Pa., the native son honoree, and a pair of Villanova coaches, football's Andy Talley and women's basketball's Harry Perretta.

Talley is being recognized for his humanitarian work in working with the national bone marrow donor program, and Perretta for earning his 600th win as the Wildcats' head coach.
