History: The Flyers and Sabres have met eight times in the playoffs, with the Flyers winning five of the series. The most important meeting was in the 1975 Stanley Cup finals, with the Flyers winning that series, 4-2, and their second consecutive Cup. The Flyers also won the next three series (1978 quarterfinals; 1995 conference quarterfinals; and 1997 conference semifinals). The Sabres have won three of the last four series, all conference quarterfinals. It was 4-1 Buffalo in 1998, 4-2 in 2001 and 4-2 in 2006. The Flyers won the 2000 conference quarterfinals, 4-1.
