You Talkin' to Me? Home ice and motivation

Well there is no doubt that the fans play a big factor in motivating the team, but let's face it: The fans are not putting the puck in the net or stopping shots. The team is playing well. They know they are only two games away from winning the Stanley Cup - they are leaving it all on the ice.

It's true that the Flyers are ultimately responsible for putting the puck in the net, and it's a good thing they did that and held on to win Game 4. If they hadn't, they might have been responsible for 20,000 simultaneous cardiac arrests. I wonder if Seth Williams would have prosecuted the whole team or just gone after the chairman instead.

Does momentum exist and matter to the players in a series or is that just a phony term made up by the media?

Momentum exists, yes. But at this level going into Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals, the players get into a zone. That matters more. This series, the energy from both teams is incredible.

I've got to give it to you, Bernie. You did not panic after the Flyers fell into that 0-2 hole. You were consistent, upbeat, encouraging, and optimistic, and boy were you right.

As they say, seven game series don't start until someone wins on the road. It'd be incredible to witness the atmosphere at the Wachovia Center on Wednesday night if the Flyers are playing to win the Cup. Can you imagine?
