Flyers Notes: Injured Asham won't make trip

The Flyers will be without winger Arron Asham for their West Coast trip.Asham will be sidelined for at least 10 days with a strained muscle in his left side, suffered during the Flyers' 3-2 win over New Jersey last night, general manager Paul Holmgren said.
"He'll stay back and do his rehab here," Holmgren said.
He said the team would recall David Laliberte from the AHL's Phantoms.
Before Asham was injured, he assisted on the game's first goal by Darroll Powe. Asham has five points this season.
Inducting the Hammer
Introduced as the man "forever known as the original Broad Street Bully," Dave Schultz became the 20th inductee into the Flyers' Hall of Fame."I left here 33 years ago, and I'm coming back to stay," Schultz said.
The man who still holds the single-season record for penalty minutes - he logged 472 in 1974-75 - spoke for six minutes before the game.
With his two sons beside him along with his "partner in crime" Bob Kelly, Schultz thanked many of his former teammates along with the fans.
"For me," Schultz said, "this is as good as it gets."
Van Riemsdyk shakes flu
Being young has its advantages for James van Riemsdyk. One of them is apparently is a quick-working immune system. The 20-year-old rookie van Riemsdyk was back in the lineup last night after missing just one game due to the flu. That forced Riley Cote back to the bench.Van Riemsdyk entered last night's play with 15 points, good for a second-place tie among all rookie scorers. The Islanders' John Tavares is first with 19 points.
Hitting the road
The Flyers boarded a plane bound for Los Angeles after last night's game against New Jersey. Beginning with a game tomorrow against the Kings, the Flyers will play five games in eight days - the team's second-longest road trip of the year.
So far, 12 of the Flyers' 17 games have been played at the Wachovia Center.
