Flyers change game time to accommodate World Series Game 3
The Flyers moved Saturday's start time against the New Jersey Devils from 7 p.m. to 4 p.m. to try to alleviate the congestion in the area with Game 3 of the World Series beginning at 8:22 pm.
The game could not be moved to 1 p.m. because the two teams play in New Jersey on Friday night, and an NHLPA rule restricts games from being played within a certain time window.
"We felt that changing the starting time to 4 p.m. benefits our fans," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said. "The [change] should alleviate some of the congestion in the sports complex area and gives our fans the opportunity to view Game 3 of the World Series."
It will be a busy weekend at the complex. Celtic Thunder performs at the Spectrum on Saturday at 8 p.m. The Eagles kick off against Atlanta at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Linc, and The Who concert begins at 7:30 at the Wachovia Center - just in time for Game 4 of the World Series. *
