How it happened: The Flyers made their lives easier last night by scoring first. Joffrey Lupul's deflected shot midway through the first period gave the Flyers their first lead of the series since the first period of Game 1. Later, they would make it adventurous.
What it means: There will be a Game 5 on Sunday in Pittsburgh at 3 p.m. In the previous five occurrences, the Flyers had never won a Game 4 when trailing a series 3-0.
Hero(es): Danny Briere had his strongest game and scored his first goal of the series. Pittsburgh's Jordan Staal, who flew to Thunder Bay, Ontario, for his grandfather's funeral during Wednesday's off-day, scored the Penguins' two goals in the third period.

Never a doubt: Yeah, right. The Flyers carried a 3-0 lead into the third period and tortured the 19,972 at the Wachovia Center by allowing two third-period goals. Lupul's empty-netter with 33 seconds left finally allowed the faithful to exhale.
