Left winger Travis Moen and right winger George Parros signed two-year contract extensions with the Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks yesterday.

The deals keep both under contract through the 2008-09 season. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Moen, 25, had seven goals, five assists and 22 penalty minutes while playing in all 21 of Anaheim's postseason games. He tied for the club lead and was second in the NHL with three game-winning goals in the playoffs.

Moen had 11 goals, 10 assists, and 101 penalty minutes in 82 regular-season games and set career highs in goals, assists and points.

Parros, 27, was scoreless in five first- and second-round playoff games during his second NHL season. He did not appear in any of the Ducks' five games in the Stanley Cup Finals.

He had one goal, no assists, and a team-leading total of 102 penalty minutes in 32 regular-season games.

Maple Leafs keep Sundin. Center Mats Sundin agreed to a one-year, $5.5 million contract with Toronto.

The 36-year-old Swede, Toronto's captain, had 27 goals and 49 assists in 75 games with the Leafs last season while making $7.6 million.

Chelios is coming off his 23d NHL season, in which he had no goals and 11 assists, and his record 22d postseason appearance.

Sabres' brass returning. Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff and general manager Darcy Regier have agreed to new contracts, allowing the Sabres to retain the architects of a team coming off consecutive appearances in the Eastern Conference finals.

The deals will be announced later this week, a person familiar with the negotiations said. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Sabres had not yet announced the signings.

Bruin given extension. Boston and defenseman Andrew Alberts have agreed to a multiyear contract extension. Terms were not disclosed.

Alberts, 25, made his NHL debut in 2005. Last season he had no goals and 10 assists in 76 games, and also led the team with 124 penalty minutes.
