Flyers' Brayden Schenn leaves game after hit from Capitals' Tom Wilson

Flyers forward Brayden Schenn left Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals due to a hard hit into the boards by forward Tom Wilson. The Flyers announced Schenn suffered an upper-body injury.

With the game tied at 2-2 and 4:43 remaining in the second period, Schenn possessed the puck behind his own end line and was crushed by Wilson, who received a five-minute major for charging, a five-minute major for fighting defenseman Nicklas Grossmann and a 10-minute game misconduct for the hit.

Schenn struggled to his feet after the hit and fell down twice on his way to the bench before a trainer attended to him.

The Flyers scored twice on the ensuing five-minute power play. Mark Streit and Jakub Voracek recorded the goals.

Schenn notched 10:42 in ice time, a shot on goal and two hits before leaving the game. This season, he has seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 34 games played.
