The Eagles are going to the Super Bowl as underdogs. Again.

Las Vegas has opened the Patriots as 6-point favorites for the Feb. 4 game in Minneapolis. The over/under is 48. The Eagles are the biggest Super Bowl underdog since 2009.

The Eagles have been underdogs throughout the playoffs. They were the first No. 1 seed ever to be underdogs in the divisional round when they beat Atlanta. Minnesota also was favored for Sunday's NFC championship game and we all saw how that ended. In both games, the Eagles were about 3-point underdogs.

Both the Eagles and the Patriots are 12-6 against the spread this season.

When the teams met in Super Bowl 39 in Jacksonville, New England was favored by 7. The Patriots beat the Eagles, 24-21.
