Eagles coach Andy Reid said the team looked into the possibility of adding Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin, but he wouldn't offer any more details than that during an interview on ESPN this afternoon.

"We inquired, but that's as far as we went," he said.

When asked a follow-up question about if that meant the asking price was too high, Reid responded, "We inquired."

He touched on a few other topics:

** When asked about Donovan McNabb's contract situation, Reid avoided the question, telling ESPN's Tre Wingo he was asking all the tough questions, and that Jaws was there to answer those.

** When asked about fifth-round pick Cornelius Ingram, Reid said he thinks the Florida tight end should be ready for minicamp, but that the team would take it easy on him.

** When asked about the team's first two draft picks, Reid said, "It gives Donovan a few more weapons, so called weapons there."

Interesting about Boldin... wasn't traded in the first or 2nd round... even though many teams wanted / needed WRs (looking at the number of WRs taken in the first and second rounds). Looks like either the Cardinals overvalue Anquan Boldin or the fans do. Maybe both. I'll be very curious to see how that plays out with Arizona now.

It wasn't the cost of trading for Boldin, it was the millions he wants in a new deal that no team wanted to pay.

It wa the fact the Boldin is a name. Great player when on the field, which he has NEVER played a full season in the pros. The Cards simply wanted too much for him and NO other teams did the trade. He is too old to get a first rounder and his durability is in question. His play making ability is not. He would also want 8 to 10 million a year, fo a guy that may be sidelined for 2 to 4 games a season, as history has proven. Don't blame the birds on not pulling the trigger for hi when no other team did either.

What, the cardinals didn't except our offer to trade their probowler for Reggie Brown and Winston Justice, I'm shocked!

my guess is that boldin was never really available. the cards just entertained interest so that could tell boldin that they tried but nothing materialized. he's not going anywhere.

"It wa the fact the Boldin is a name. Great player when on the field, which he has NEVER played a full season in the pros." Boldin has played 2 full seasons. Even though he missed 4 games each of the last 2 years he still caught more TDs than any Eagle WR. Bolding could've stepped in here and helpt the Birds now, not 3 years from now.
