Winston Justice traded to Colts

POSTED: Wednesday, March 14, 2012, 12:02 PM

The Eagles have traded right tackle Winston Justice along with a sixth-round pick to the Indianapolis Colts for a sixth-round pick.

The deal is the first for Eagles general manager Howie Roseman with new Colts GM Ryan Grigson, who formerly worked for Roseman in the Eagles' front office.

The move pushes the Eagles from the 17th pick in Round 6 to the second pick in the round.

More importantly, it saves the Eagles about $2.3 million in salary cap space this year.

Justice's departure seemed likely since last offseason when he was coming off knee surgery, and lost his starting job to Todd Herremans, who signed a long-term extension yesterday with the team.

Also, defensive tackle Antonio Dixon has signed his second-round tender for $1.927 million.

Other teams can attempt to sign him, but the Eagles would have seven days after April 20 to match offer or receive a second-round pick as compensation for losing him. And that isn't happening.

Ah what a great draft...Bunkley, Justice, Gocong, Jean-Gilles were your 1st four picks. Pure win, and by win I mean fail.
    Only in Philly...
