Les Bowen: Who knows what to make of Rams?

I'M PRETTY much guessing every week, but in an opener, I'm really guessing.
The Rams? They were 3-13 last year, right? Had a buncha guys hurt. Ought to be better this year. How much? Beats me, I've been covering the Eagles about 20 hours a day since mid-July.
Fun fact: Kevin Curtis is not the only ex-Ram on the Eagles. There's also J.R. Reed.
More seriously, I'm pretty sure that Steven Jackson guy is good. I think he might have missed a lot of training camp for some reason or another, though.
I do know that Andy Reid is 3-6 in openers. But the last time Big Red opened at home, in 2004, he won. And the Eagles went to the Super Bowl. So that has to happen this year, too, right?
If the Eagles are without Reggie Brown (hamstring) in addition to Curtis (sports hernia), we will really get a read on how on-target the popular hysteria over the wide receiver position has been.
I have very little notion of what to expect from the Rams. So I'm taking the Eagles.
Prediction
Eagles 24, Rams 14. *
